digital performance optimization - lather, rinse & repeat

As soon as a website goes live, users start interacting with the site. They tell us what they like and what they don't like. They tell us how they found the site and if the site is what they were looking for. There is a wealth of information that we can take and use to refine and optimize the site. Usually, the simplest optimization techniques (ie repositioning content, developing additional content hooks) is all it takes to make a page perform more efficiently.

Often this information is hidden away and not acted upon.

We call the life of a website a life cycle. It is a life cycle because it does not stop. The life cycle comprises of 3 main steps….

  • Learn: We need to learn how users are interacting with the site (ie what is working, what is not working). This includes reviewing the whole approach to the site including traffic source, user flow and goal conversions.
  • Improve: Based on what we have learned, we make improvements where necessary.
  • Develop: Throughout the learning process, we will be able to see what components of our site we need to develop further to be able to acheive more of our goals. Developments typically take the form of content development, tools and landing pages for SEO Optimization.
